Nicklaus Visit
In 1992, the construction of a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course was underway in Aurora, Ohio. The fact that it was going to be one of his Signature golf courses was significant to an avid golfer. Barrington Golf Club opened in 1994 and has lived up to that reputation. If anything, it has exceeded the expectations and seems to get better each year.
In April, 2013, Jack Nicklaus accepted an invitaion by Barrington's owner, Monte Ahuja, to visit the Club. Jack toured the golf course, reminiscing about his thoughts while designing the 18 holes in the early 90's. After the course tour Jack Nicklaus took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony for "The Nicklaus Grille", formerly known as the Blackheath Grille. Many of the Barrington Members had the priviledge of attending the ceremony and a luncheon in Jack's honor where he spoke to the crowd and answered questions. It was a very memorable day for Barrington Golf Club.
